Flatmate ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Dmitrii Babinov. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.
Data We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating a profile (name, email, preferences, photos), usage data when you use the app, and device information necessary for notifications and security.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to provide matching and chat features, improve our services, send important account and safety communications, and to comply with legal obligations.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Profile information is shared only with other users as part of matching and messaging. We use Supabase (EU region) for data storage and Vercel for hosting. These providers act as data processors under strict data processing agreements.
Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption and secure storage. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
Your Rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion (right to be forgotten), restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing. Contact the data controller at privacy@flatmate.dk to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.
Data Retention
We retain your account data while your account is active. After deletion, data is removed within 30 days (90 days for backup copies). Messages are retained for 12 months after last activity. Analytics data is retained for 26 months.

Third-Party Services
We may use third-party services for analytics, hosting, and authentication. These providers have their own privacy policies governing their use of data.
Children
Our service is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We process your data based on: (1) Contract: to provide matching services you signed up for; (2) Consent: for analytics and marketing cookies; (3) Legitimate interest: for security and fraud prevention; (4) Legal obligation: when required by law.
Data Breach Notification
In case of a personal data breach, the data controller will notify affected users and relevant authorities within 72 hours as required by GDPR Article 33.
International Data Transfers
Your data is stored in the European Union (Supabase EU region). We do not transfer your personal data outside the EU/EEA.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
