Room rental questions
- Is listing a room free?
- Yes, you can list your room for free on Flatmate. State the actual rent and what it includes.
- Can I use a rental contract in English?
- Yes. There is an authorised English A10 form. Use the ministry’s official edition and read its guidance before signing.
- Does Flatmate give me the DKK 35,100 tax allowance?
- A Flatmate listing does not establish that rental income was reported. The higher 2026 short-term allowance requires platform reporting. A letting of four months or more to the same tenant uses a different calculation.
- May I sublet a room?
- It depends on your housing arrangement. Private rented apartments and cooperative homes have different conditions. Check the rules and any required permissions before entering an agreement.
- How much rent can I charge?
- There is no standard lawful price for every room. The rules depend on the room and property. Read the rent guide and ask the municipality’s rent board about your case.
